RejiAI vs After Effects
In short
After Effects is professional motion graphics software: anything can be built in it, by someone who knows how. RejiAI's Kurgu takes a written brief and renders a motion video from designed scene templates in a browser, with no timeline to learn. It does not replace After Effects for custom work. RejiAI is in pre-launch.

This is not a like-for-like comparison, and it would be dishonest to present it as one. After Effects is a tool for motion designers. Kurgu is for people who need a motion video and are not motion designers.
What each one is for
Adobe describes After Effects as the place to "create stunning motion graphics", animate a logo or character and add visual effects, with a 3D workspace, motion tracking, keying and Content-Aware Fill. You build every animation yourself, layer by layer and keyframe by keyframe. There is no ceiling on what it can make, and a real learning curve before you can make it.
Kurgu inverts that. You describe the video: what it is for, who it is for, what should be on screen. RejiAI plans the scenes, picks from a catalogue of motion templates (kinetic titles, stat reveals, charts, device mock-ups, review cards, logo reveals, seams between scenes) and renders it in a look that carries your brand kit. One brief can render as three looks and in several formats. Each scene stays editable: swap the template, change the text, retime the beat.

Choose Adobe After Effects if
- You are a motion designer, or you are hiring one, and the piece has to be bespoke.
- You need visual effects, compositing, character animation or anything a template does not cover.
- You have the time: custom motion work is measured in hours and days.
- You already work in Adobe's tools and want to stay in that pipeline.
Choose RejiAI if
- You need a launch video, a promo or an explainer and have no motion designer.
- You need many videos in one consistent look rather than one hero piece.
- You want the same video in 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9 without rebuilding it.
- You want to change text or swap a scene yourself, in a browser, without opening a project file.
Questions people ask
Can RejiAI replace After Effects?
No. After Effects can build anything a designer can imagine; Kurgu builds from a catalogue of templates and looks. For bespoke work, visual effects or character animation, After Effects is the right tool. Kurgu is for when the alternative was no motion video at all.
Can I take a Kurgu video into After Effects?
Not as an editable project. A Kurgu video exports as a finished MP4. Clips cut from footage can be exported as FCPXML or EDL edit lists for Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
